# PingLane > PingLane is a web push notification platform built for Shopify stores. It helps merchants grow a push subscriber base, send targeted notifications, and recover lost revenue through automated campaigns. Merchants use a web dashboard on PingLane’s own domain in the browser; PingLane is not a Shopify-embedded (iframe) app. PingLane is available on the Shopify App Store at https://apps.shopify.com/pinglane. After you install, you open PingLane in your web browser to manage campaigns, subscribers, and settings. The app connects to your store in the background and handles subscriber opt-ins, notification delivery, and performance tracking automatically. ## Official links - Website: https://pinglane.com/ - Shopify App Store: https://apps.shopify.com/pinglane Install PingLane from the Shopify App Store listing (PingLane: Web Push). Free plan available; paid plans billed through Shopify. ## Social profiles - X (Twitter): https://x.com/pinglanehq - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pinglanehq - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/pinglane ## Dashboard The dashboard gives a quick overview of your store's push notification activity. It shows all-time metrics like total sent notifications, total clicks, and overall click-through rate. It also shows a 30-day performance summary, audience reach numbers, a list of upcoming scheduled notifications, and upcoming reminders. Quick action buttons let you jump straight to creating a notification, setting up an automation, or building a segment. ## Notifications Notifications are one-time push notifications you send manually to your subscribers. You can send to your full subscriber list or target a specific segment. Each notification supports: - A title and body message - A custom icon and image - Up to two action buttons with custom labels and URLs - A landing URL where subscribers go after clicking - An expiration time that controls how long the notification waits for offline subscribers before giving up (from 5 minutes up to 7 days) - UTM parameters added automatically to the landing URL for campaign tracking - A scheduled send time or immediate delivery Notifications can be saved as drafts, scheduled for a future date and time, sent right away, or cancelled. The notifications list shows all notifications grouped by status (all, draft, scheduled, sent, cancelled) with performance stats like sent count, views, clicks, click-through rate, and attributed revenue. ## Push Automations Push Automations are pre-built notification flows that run in the background and send push notifications automatically when shoppers do something on your store. You set each one up once and PingLane handles the rest. Available automations: - Welcome: Sends a welcome notification (or series of notifications) the moment a visitor subscribes to push. You control how many messages to send and the delay between each one. - Cart Recovery: Sends a series of notifications when a subscribed visitor adds products to their cart and leaves without checking out. If a subscriber then creates a cart, any active browse reminders for them are cancelled. - Browse Reminder: Sends a series of follow-up notifications when a subscribed visitor views a product page and leaves without taking action. - Back in Stock: When a visitor opts in for back-in-stock alerts on a product page using the opt-in widget, PingLane watches the product. The moment it is back in stock, a push notification goes out right away. - Price Drop Alert: When a visitor opts in for price drop alerts on a product page using the opt-in widget, PingLane watches the price. The moment it drops below what it was when they opted in, a push notification is sent. Each automation can have multiple notifications in a sequence. You set the delay between steps in minutes, hours, or days. Individual notifications in a sequence can be turned on or off independently. Back in Stock and Price Drop automations include a customizable opt-in widget that appears on product pages and can be styled to match your store theme (colors, position, button text, animation effect). Automation metrics show how many subscribers entered (triggered), completed the full flow, and exited early. ## Reminders Reminders are scheduled push notifications that go out on a set date and time. They can be one-time or repeating. Recurring options include daily, weekly (on specific days of the week), monthly (on a specific day of the month), and yearly. For recurring reminders you set a start time, an interval, and an end condition (never, after a set number of sends, or on a specific end date). You can target a specific subscriber segment or send to your full list. Each reminder has the same notification options as a standard notification (title, body, icon, image, action buttons, URL, expiration, UTM params). Reminders show performance metrics for each send including sent count, views, clicks, and revenue. ## Segments Segments let you group subscribers so you can send notifications to a specific audience instead of everyone. You build a segment using conditions organized into groups. Conditions can be based on: - Subscriber actions: whether a subscriber clicked or viewed a specific notification or any notification within a time window - Device info: browser type (Chrome, Firefox, Safari), device type (desktop, mobile) - Location: country, state, or city Groups of conditions use AND or OR logic. Multiple groups also use AND or OR logic between them. Segments are dynamic and update automatically as subscriber data changes. You can create, edit, duplicate, and archive segments. The segment list shows how many subscribers are in each segment and the last time it was processed. ## Permission Prompts Permission Prompts control how and when you ask visitors to subscribe to web push notifications on your store. There are two types of prompts: - Subscribe prompts: shown to visitors who have not subscribed yet to invite them to opt in - Resubscribe prompts: shown to visitors who previously subscribed but whose permission has since lapsed, giving them a way to re-enable notifications You can start a new prompt from a template library that has ready-made designs, or build a custom one from scratch. Each prompt is visually previewed in the editor across Chrome, Firefox, and Safari so you can see exactly how it will look. Targeting options for each prompt: - Trigger type: show the prompt after a time delay (in seconds) or after a visitor scrolls a percentage of the page - Device targeting: show on desktop, mobile, or both - Browser targeting: show on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or any combination - URL targeting: include or exclude specific pages or URL patterns - Location targeting: include or exclude specific countries or regions - Frequency: how many times the prompt can show to the same visitor and how many days to wait before showing it again ## Subscriber Analytics Subscriber Analytics tracks how your push subscriber base is growing over time. Metrics shown: - Active Subscribers: total subscribers currently opted in to push - New Subscribers (30d): new subscribers gained in the last 30 days - Avg Daily New: average new subscribers per day over the last 30 days A growth trend chart shows daily new subscriber counts over time. Distribution charts show the breakdown of your subscribers by browser, device type, and country. ## Web Push Analytics Web Push Analytics tracks the performance of all your sent notifications over any date range you choose. All-time metrics include: - Total sent notifications - Total views (times a notification appeared on a subscriber screen) - Total clicks (clicks on the notification body or any action button) - Click-through rate (clicks divided by views) - Attributed revenue (orders placed by subscribers who clicked a notification and purchased within 7 days) You can filter by date range and group trend charts by day, week, month, or quarter. Charts show CTR trend and revenue trend over time. A period summary shows the same stats just for your selected date range. ## Web Push Settings Web Push Settings let you configure global defaults for your store's push notifications. Available settings: - Notification expiration: how long a notification waits for an offline subscriber before it expires. Ranges from 5 minutes to 7 days. - UTM parameters: default UTM values (source, medium, campaign, term, content) added automatically to all notification landing URLs - Geo tracking: whether to collect country, state, and city data for subscribers - IP tracking: whether to use IP data to help determine subscriber location - Notification limits: control how many notifications a subscriber can receive in a given time period ## Store Settings Store Settings is where you manage basic information about your store as it appears in PingLane. Fields include: - Store name - Store logo (uploaded image) - Timezone (used for scheduling and reporting) - Currency (used for revenue reporting) - Theme colors (primary and secondary) used as defaults in widgets and prompts ## Billing PingLane offers multiple plans with different monthly web push send volumes. Plans are billed through Shopify. Available plans: - Starter: entry-level plan for stores getting started with web push - Indie: mid-tier plan with more sending capacity and standard support, suited for growing audiences - Pro: higher-volume plan with priority support and account monitoring, suited for stores where web push is a core growth channel Each plan can be billed monthly or yearly. Within each plan you choose a tier based on how many web push notifications you need to send per month. Billing is managed through Shopify billing and charges appear on your Shopify invoice. ## Shopify Integration PingLane installs directly from the Shopify App Store. After installation, OAuth connects it to your store. You use the PingLane UI on PingLane’s own domain in your web browser, not inside the Shopify admin. PingLane listens to Shopify webhooks to power automations like cart recovery, back in stock, and price drop alerts. Revenue attribution is tied to Shopify order data to track which notifications led to purchases.
